L’Arche as a community is immersed in narrative in everything that we do. Storytelling, we believe, imbues meaning into our life as a community; it is at the heart of our actions. It allows us to remember those who have come before us, and how God is using us in this present moment with the people he has called to be in community. The charter of L’Arche reminds us that it is a core practice of each L’Arche community.

As we have reintroduced our quarterly newsletter, we have struggled to find the right way to make it accessible beyond the downloadable website link. In the coming month our next newsletter will be coming out, so we are experimenting with a different approach. While the newsletter will still be available in its entirety to whoever would like it, we are also modifying it to allow the individual stories that it comprises of to be shared on this website. Our hope is that this will allow others to have direct access to the stories that shape our community – of how core members and assistants together are walking together in the homes.

As a community we richly desire to be a light on a hill for all to see, after all the purpose of being in a lifeboat like L’Arche is not to drift but to be found by others. And that is our hope as we revamp this portion of our website.
